S.R.F.T.I.
S.R.F.T.I. Project. Space–themed music is any music, from any genre of style, with lyrics of titles relating to outer space or space travel. Songs or other musical forms influenced by the concept of outer space have appeared in music throughout history, both in instrumental and vocal pieces with lyrics. My basic concept is “harmony of the spheres”. Music made with sounds of outer space. Energy sources in the atmosphere, such as lighting, can produce sounds. A person listening to music can be said to “hear space” (if she hears a “rising” melodic line) or suggest abstract consents related to an imaginary spatial scene. The SRFTI consists of a couple of massive monumental outdoor sculptures in the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata. They were made using welded scrap iron, aluminum and perforated sheets (mostly using obsolete equipment of film industry). Scraps from film shootings, like tracks, trollies, crains, etc. I was involved in the project from December 2012 to January 2013 and it was an experience of a lifetime.
